A Mysterious Halloween

Every Halloween, I try to find a costume that gives life to a character (real or imagined). Last year I was Einstein. I didn’t even have to wear a wig–I just donned a mustache and some fuzzy eyebrows and messed up my white hair. I looked, sad to say, a LOT like him. 🙂

This year, in honor of the cozy mystery genre, I decided to return to the Queen of Classical/Cozy mysteries–Agatha Christie–and one of her fictional detectives, Miss Jane Marple of St. Mary Mead. Jane appeared in a dozen of Christie’s novels, using her brilliant mind to solve mysteries while perpetrators dismissed her as “just a little old lady.”

So today I am happily donning the tweeds of Jane Marple! Perhaps I’ll solve a mystery, as well.

Happy Halloween! I hope you’re reading a good mystery today.
